I was planning to post a new article on this blog yesterday, but I couldn't. Because I took a nap with my daughter in the afternoon and consequently I had no time to write something in English.

While sleeping with her, I felt cozy & comfortable in bed. It was so hard to get out of my bed.

Autumn has come at last. Yesterday was a parents' visiting day at my daughter's kindergarten. My daughter, who is in one of the youngest classes （年少組）, was playing and dancing to the music. She was really enjoying her kindergarten life. She was talking to her friends with a laugh. She and her friends were chasing after each other in the small classroom.

Now they have to practice playing for their sports day （運動会）. It seems that they are in 'hard' training for the event. Probably she doesn't know what 'the sports day' is like, but she's really looking forward to participating it.

At noon, she and I came home together. She was tired from exercises at kindergarten. She said, "I am so sleepy. I wanna sleep with you, Mom." Then we did.

If my husband (or my boyfriend) could only speak English, I would have to speak English all day long.
Every morning, every afternoon, every night, English, English, AND English...

For instance...
When we are fighting, it's like, "I can't believe you said that!" "Who do you think you are?" "Fine! Do what you want."...
Those harsh words might make the situation all the more complicated, but it sounds really exciting, doesn't it?

On the other hand, in a romantic situation... we can exchange passionate words, like, "You don't know how much I love you. I can't live without you. I wanna grow old with you like this."...
That's WAY TOO romantic. Some people reading this article might make a 'What-are-you-talking-about' face there, but I can pretend he is a hero and I am a heroine in a western movie... That's so fun!

If you talk directly from you heart, you can show your feelings so naturally. I believe that using those soulful & emotion-charged words improves your English skills more & more.

"You have to speak English all day long" means "You can't get away from the English language." Some might feel scared with the idea, but I really want to put myself into those situations, like, "English is inevitable. English is chasing after you all the way to the edge of hell. "

Am I weird? Does anybody understand my strong feelings for English?

When I watch TV dramas in English or listen to Western songs, I come across a lot of expressions I really want to use.
Unfortunately, I don't have any English-speaking friends in real life. I mean, even if I learn those useful expressions, I have no chance to use them in my daily life. Maybe that's why I am writing English on this blog right now. "I wanna use those expressions somewhere!" That's all.

I sometimes think, "What if I were married to an English speaker?"
Wow, just the thought of it makes me very excited. You might think of me as an unfaithful wife, because I already have a lovely husband who speaks only Japanese.
Please don't get judgmental, you guys. I have no complaints about my husband except the fact that he doesn't speak English. Also, my husband doesn't know anything about this blog. I can write ANYTHING I want behind his back. (Is this a kind of joke, or...?)

In order to get the certificate of the accident, I had to call the police. Otherwise I would have to pay the damage for myself. That must cost a fortune. I had to avoid further useless disaster.

I finally called the police. I thought I just had to report the details of the accident on the phone. However, a policeman anwering the phone said, "We'd like to see the scene of the accident and examine how the accident happened. So we're visiting your place soon. Wait for a while."

The police's coming to my house? The things was getting worse and worse.

30 minutes later, two policemen visited my house. They parked a big police car, with an electric bulletin board on the roof, next to my house. Some neighbors walked past my house, throwing a quick glance at the police car. I blushed for shame.

Unexpectedly, my son & daughter got really excited. Since they hadn't seen police officers in uniform up close before, they seemed to find those cops so cool. My children had the courage to talk to those policemen. The officers were so kind that they pleasantly chatted away about this and that.

After the examination, one of the policemen said, "The inspection is done. We can issue the certificate of the accident. I'm gonna close with this warning. You'd better watch carefully where you're going. You might've broken someone's car, or worse, someone's body."
"I totally understand. I'll be careful hereafter", I replied with a serious look on my face.

He said to my son, "Have you finished your assignment for the summer vacation 'a picture diary'? I recommend you to write about this accident, like, "My mom almost got arrested by the police. I was so scared." Ha-ha."
"Yeah, I will", my son answered vigorously.
Needless to say, after that, I managed to discourage him from writing about the accident on his diary. Phew!

As I said before, I ran my car into the wall of my house. I was so shocked that I was about to get into a panic. I said to myself, "Be cool, be cool." in order to stay calm. After a while, I started to think about what to do. "Anyway, I have to talk to the person in charge of the car insurance." Then I called the car insurance company.

"Hi, as a matter of fact, I got a car accident. My car hit the wall of my house, and the front part of the car got broken," I explained the situation in a shyly voice.
"Oh, did you get hurt?" She asked.
"Not at all. Thanks." I replied.
She said with a sigh of relief, "It's good that you didn't get hurt at all."

I guess operators' manual says, "First of all, you should ask after driver & passengers' health & safety." She might just obey the instruction. Even so, I felt so relieved and glad to hear those kind words. I think some words can cut more than swords and some words can heal your wounds.

About half an hour later, the person in charge visited my house. He took some pictures of my car and the wall. He said, "I think your insurance can cover this damage. You won't have to pay the cost at all. Oh, I forgot to mention, We need a certificate of the accident （事故証明書）in order to begin the procedure. So, you have to report the accident to the police."

Really? Do I have to call the police? I was getting a little nervous.

Guess what? Listen, I got a car accident about a week ago. Why, why, why, why?! I was supposed to be a safe driver. I can even show you my 'gold' driver's license. As the proverb goes, "Accidents WILL happen." Yes, that's true.

On that day, I was a little bit tired & sleeply. Maybe because I had to take care of my full-of-pep children all day long during this summer vacation. Spending a lot of time with them really exhausted my energy.

Let me spell out what happened that day.
On my way home from a nearby shopping center, I'm so ashamed to say this, but... I ran my car into a block wall. The block wall belongs to me, strictly speaking, to my husband. Yes, my car hit the wall around my house. I couldn't believe this. "What were you thinking about then?", I wanna ask myself even now.

After hitting the wall, I quickly got off the car and checked out which part of the car was broken.
There was a big dent in the front right part of the bumper. When my car hit the wall, I didn't feel so much impact. As I recall, a bumper functions as a shock absorber or a buffer. I think the bumper of my car performed its job well. Thanks, Mr. bumper, you prevented me from suffering whiplash injuries.
